A Greener Side of Paradise
ELIMINATING PLASTIC
& ENHANCING GUEST EXPERIENCES
We all hear the statistics about how plastic is washing up on landfills and oceans, and it’s simply not necessary. If you’ve ever walked on the beach and seen a plastic bag, or a floating bottle, it makes you cringe. These are things we can easily remove from our hospitality environment, providing our guests with a clean and healthy environment.
Below are a few examples of how we removed those pesky plastic items in return for a greener side of paradise.
We encourage our guests to enjoy our repurposed glass bottles that can be filled from 5-gallon jugs of purified water in the bar and dining areas.
In fact, most of our guests at TM don’t like using plastic bottles.
A really popular drink at TM with our guests is kombucha, and our vendor bottles it in these wonderful clear glass bottles, so we strip the sticker and put them by our jug to use and take home.
Our guests can enjoy water by the beach and take home their very own bottle.
We bought an excellent glass bottle cutter which has given us the opportunity.
to find other uses for used bottles that enhance the vibe of our property.
There are numerous options for replacing plastic straws these days—we use paper and bamboo straws!
They seem to add to the sophistication of our cocktails.
We sell the bamboo straws in packs of 30 which are a popular item in our gift shop.
We switched from small plastic bathroom product bottles to larger ones that we top off every few days.
Our guests rave about our biodegradable bath products and frequently buy them from our gift shop.
