Gallo pinto is the national dish of Costa Rica. We always have a fresh batch ready for our guests to enjoy during their stay with us. This quick and simple recipe is the perfect way to bring those classic Costa Rican flavors to your home, from our kitchen to yours.
2 cups cooked rice
2 cups cooked black bean beans
2 tablespoon chopped onion
2 minced garlic cloves
2 tablespoons chopped sweet red peppers
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
HOW TO MAKE:
Combine onion, garlic and sweet peppers in a saucepan with a bit of olive oil.
Sauté until golden.
Add the rice and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add the beans with their juice. The juice of the beans will make the rice into the right gallo pinto color rice.
Add some cilantro as garnish
